In january 1997 I re-visited San Francisco after five years. I wanted to meet people I knew because of the Internet but also wanted to see the Macworld Expo and the Apple HQ in Cupertino.
It turned out even better than I expected. I acted as the representative of MacFan Magazine and had access to some interesting meetings. But I also met some really famous people!
From left to right: Alessandro Levi Montalcini (Mr. KeyQuencer), Chad Magendanz (Mr. ShrinkWrap) and Adam Engst (TidBits)
On this and following pages there are a lot of snapshots which I took during my stay in SF. For easier browsing I grouped them together:
A few pictures of Traveling to and from SF.
My plane arrived on Saturday and thus I had a few days to recover from the jet-leg and do some sightseeing before the Macworld started on Tuesday.
I visited a few meetings organized by Apple. There are two pictures of famous Apple employees. Unfortunately all the pictures I took during the keynote failed...
The official PR guys at Apple were too busy guiding more important people around the Apple Campus in Cupertino. But Alex Dosher of Apple DTS did care for me and my Italian friends. He gave a short tour around the R&D buildings. And we joined Clarus the Dogcow grazing on the lawn.
This is how 80.000 people at the MacWorld show floor look like. And the booth has to be special to be noticed!
The famous Netters Dinner was held for the 11th time and I was there ('Been there, done that'!). While eating I met some nice people. And luckily I could buy a Heineken beer!
